His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, also sent a cable of congratulations to the Brazilian President on the national occasion.
His Excellency Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, met with Her Excellency Marina Hadjimanolis, Deputy Minister of Shipping to the President of the Republic of Cyprus, during her official visit to Bahrain.
Following the meeting, the two officials signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on maritime cooperation between Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and Cyprus’ Shipping Ministry.
The MoU covers maritime safety and security, search and rescue, marine environmental protection, training, exchange of expertise, innovation and modern maritime technologies.
Japan Anime Fest
The Embassy of Japan in Bahrain has announced the return of Japan Anime Fest 2026, running from October 1 to 8. The eight-day festival will showcase Japanese animation and storytelling under the theme “Stories Connect, Hearts Heal, and Magic Unfolds.”
The festival will feature eight films at Epix Cinemas in Dana Mall and Bahrain Polytechnic.
HM King Issues Order
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Order (28) of 2026 appointing Bahrain’s representatives to the Advisory Body of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
The members are Dr. Shaikha Maryam bint Hassan bin Ali Al Khalifa, Sabeeka Khalifa Al Fadhala, Dr. Mohammed Ali Hassan, Ahmed Sabah Al Saloom and Hassan Eid Bukhamas. They will serve a three-year term, with the order taking effect from its publication in the Official Gazette.
Strategic Ties Discussed in Washington
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States, participated in a roundtable discussion organised by the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington.
The discussion focused on the strong strategic partnership between Bahrain and the United States and opportunities to further expand cooperation amid current regional and international developments.
Muharraq Governor Praises
Muharraq Governor Salman bin Isa bin Hindi Al Mannai highlighted the role of sports media in documenting Bahrain’s sporting achievements and preserving the history of national teams and clubs.
The governor made the remarks while receiving sports journalist Nasser Mohammed, Head of the Sports Section at Al Ayam newspaper, who presented him with an archival photograph documenting the 2008 King’s Cup football final, when Muharraq Club won the title.
From Climate Action to Youth Rights
MP Hassan Ibrahim Hassan highlighted Bahrain’s efforts in climate action, youth development and political and human rights during the 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Uzbekistan.
Speaking in sessions on climate resilience and protecting political rights, he outlined Bahrain’s target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, alongside efforts to reduce emissions, expand renewable energy, increase afforestation and protect ecosystems.
