BACA chief attends Jeddha Art

ManamaBahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President, Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, yesterday participated in the opening ceremony of the fifth edition of Jeddah Art 21-39 initiative being organized by Saudi Art Council in Saudi Arabia. 

The BACA President said the cultural movement reflects the Gulf communities’ cultural and civilizational richness in the universal language of art. 

She said art works showcased at Jeddah art will contribute much to promoting the national cultural and civilizational production.

She commended the Saudi Art Council efforts to support local art and establish cultural exchange with countries of the world. 

The fifth Jeddah Art exhibition is themed (Refusing to be still). It is featuring works by more than 30 Saudi and international artists.  Workshops and activities at the show will engage the public in various art practices. 

Jeddah Art is a non-profit initiative launched by Saudi Art Council in February 2014 including a cluster of programmes to highlight the Saudi cultural scene.
