Teen faces trial for bike theft
Manama
A teenager will appear in the dock on July 27 over accusations of robbing a motorbike. The 16-year-old boy is suspected of stealing a delivery motorcycle belonging to a local newspaper at 4.43 am.
The owner of the motorbike claimed that three men disembarked from a car in front of him while he was on duty. According to his statement before the Public Prosecution, two of them were wearing face masks, but all the three were holding knives, suggesting that he would identify the third one whose face was visible.
One of the three suspects was eventually captured after police saw a child on the bike roaming across Hamad Town. He was taken to police station and revealed that the bike was brought to home by his brother (the 16-year-old boy).
Following this revelation, the latter was arrested and charged with robbery. "I was with my friends driving around Bahrain. We saw the motorcycle and one of them said “let's go and rob it," the 16-year-old said during interrogation.
