Dubai Summer Surprises packed with celebrity shows

Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), has unveiled a fun-filled calendar of events for the 18th edition of Dubai Summer Surprises, which will kick off July 23, with the exciting tagline ‘45 days Of Summer’. The event offers locals as well as visitors from around the world the opportunity to enjoy a diverse range of events, from international celebrity appearances and shows to world premieres featuring internationally renowned children’s cartoon characters

Among the new attractions this year are celebrity shows by Jaden and Willow Smith, Nancy Ajram and Arab teen star Hala Turk while global entertainment concepts such as Bugs Bunny, Tweety & Sylvester, Power Rangers, Sonic the Hedgehog and Gumball will be launching their world premieres during this year’s family extravaganza.

For the 18th edition of Dubai Summer Surprises we have raised the bar further in terms of innovative events including appearances and acts by global and regional celebrities, who will perform under our DSS Starz series, in addition to world premieres by much loved children’s entertainment characters.

Dubai Summer Surprises 2015- Calendar of Events

World Premieres:

This year’s edition of world premieres will feature a diverse range of shows launched for the first time in the UAE. Bugs Bunny, the world’s favourite rabbit leads the pack while Tweety and Sylvester will continue their chase in Dubai and entertain kids with three shows, fun workshops and Meet and Greet sessions. The world premiere show of the ‘Power Rangers Super Megaforce’ is one to reckon with while Sonic the Hedgehog promises to bring alive all the magic on a custom-built Sonic theme course. Top up the experience with an exciting adventure with Gumball and friends as they take a trip to the summer camp at Dubai Festival City Mall.

Modhesh World:

‘Every step is a new adventure’ at Modhesh World this year and featuring the highest number of attractions in its history, the indoor endutainment destination spanning across 34,000 sq. m at the Dubai World Trade Centre promises nothing less than a celebration. This year’s offerings include a wide selection of adventure rides, thrilling games, interactive experiences and shows by artists and performers from across the world. Designed to entertain visitors of all ages, Modhesh World also features a variety of F&B outlets and two dedicated lounges for parents at two different locations.

Concerts:

At DSS this year, kids can dance to the tunes of five famous music artists— Diana Haddad, Nawal Kuwaitiya and Abdallah Ruwaishid will perform on 23 July, followed by Hussein Al Jasmi and Kadim Al Saher on the next day. Exclusive concerts for children would be performed by Arab superstars, Nancy Ajram and teen sensation Hala Turk, as part of DSS Starz at Modhesh World.

DSS Promotions:

Visitors and residents at the DSS this year are promised some great shopping bargains at The Big Summer Sale, featuring famous brands and a wide selection of products. Participating retail outlets ranging from well-known retail groups, beauty stores and department stores also offer ‘surprise’ elements as part of DSS’ Shop-A-Surprise campaign. Shoppers are rewarded during the DSS’ promotion run with exciting prizes at weekly draws at participating outlets. For visitors wanting to ease those muscles, DSS’ Spa& Leisure Promotions offer a range of wellness treatments at participating outlets and feature discounted beauty packages and much more. Children also get to be a part of the excitement with the special ‘Back to School’ campaign and win exciting prizes at the participating retail and F&B outlets.

Other Events:

An interesting array of events and attractions await kids at DSS 2015 from Cartoon Fiesta featuring Ben Ten, Grandpa Max and friends at the Plumber’s Academy. Dora the Explorer gets adventurous with her colourful animalitos while celebrity kids Jaden and Willow Smith will meet fans and be a part of the Kids Fashion Fest. The Fashion Fest will also feature attractive choices for young fashionistas and a Styling Session that focuses exclusively on Dubai collections. Children can also get a feel of the marketplace at the Kids Pop-Up Summer Market, featuring children’s themes and members of the ‘Little Majlis’. New attractions include theatrical shows with Madagascar Live, live shows with Sponge Bob, video game themed campaign- 8 bit in the city, Lego time at Blocks at Boxpark, interactive stage show at Blaze the Show, a medley of Circus shows with Circus Fiesta and much more. Global attractions include the renowned Swan Lake Acrobatic Ballet by the Great Chinese State Circus and creative sessions hosted by Lloyd Warbey. Dubai Sports World also showcases a 10-week schedule of tournaments, academies and activities for visitors of all ages at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
