National team head coach Dragan Talajic has named a 27-player squad for the team's upcoming overseas training camp in Georgia and Türkiye as preparations continue for a busy international calendar.

The camp will run from today until June 10 and forms part of Bahrain’s preparations for the 27th Gulf Cup, scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia from September 23 to October 6, as well as the AFC Asian Cup 2027.

The squad includes goalkeepers Omar Salem, Mohammed Al Gharabli, Abdulla Al Ahmed and Godwill Chia, alongside Abbas Al Asfoor, Abdulla Al Khalasi, Ahmed Bughammar, Ali Al Doseri, Ali Madan, Ebrahim Al Khattal, Hassan Al Karani, Hashim Sayed Isa, Hussain Abdulkarim, Komail Al Aswad, Mahdi Abduljabbar, Mahdi Humaidan, Mohammed Marhoon, Mohammed Abdulqayoom, Omar Saber, Saleh Al Zubaidi, Sayed Dhiya Saeed, Sayed Mahdi Sharaf, Vincent Emmanuel, Waleed Al Hayyam, Mohammed Al Romaihi, Ahmed Dhiya and Ahmed Rabeea.

The national team delegation departed yesterday evening for the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, where Bahrain will begin the first phase of their preparations with a series of training sessions before taking on Georgia in an international friendly on June 5 during the FIFA international window.

Following that match, the squad will travel to Antalya, Türkiye, to continue their training camp ahead of a second friendly against Syria on June 9.

The two matches will provide Talajic and his staff with an opportunity to assess players and further develop the squad’s tactical and physical readiness ahead of their upcoming competitive commitments.

Bahrain will enter the Gulf Cup later this year as defending champions after lifting the regional title in the previous edition. They have been drawn in Group B alongside the UAE, Qatar and Yemen.

The nationals are also continuing their preparations for the AFC Asian Cup 2027, which will be held from January 7 to February 5. Bahrain have been drawn in Group B alongside Jordan, Uzbekistan and North Korea.
