Missile attack on Riyadh condemned

ManamaBahrain yesterday strongly condemned the ballistic missile attack which was intercepted and destroyed by the Saudi Air Defence Forces over Riyadh on Saturday.

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said that the attack targeting Riyadh violated all religious teachings and international norms. 

“Such acts will only increase our resolve and determination to march ahead, supporting all action to defend the Arab nation’s security and dignity,” HRH Prime Minister said in a cable sent to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

In a cable sent to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, HRH the Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa condemned the attack, reiterating Bahrain’s firm support for all the measures taken by Saudi Arabia to preserve its security and stability. 

Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh expressed Bahrain’s firm solidarity to Saudi Arabia in its efforts to eradicate all forms of terrorism and threats to its security, stability and safety. 

Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Mulla expressed Bahraini Parliament’s support to Saudi Arabia and the Saudi-led Arab Coalition in Support of the Legitimacy in Yemen in the efforts to eradicate terrorism in all of its forms and manifestations. 

“The missile attack reflects the militia’s absolute rejection of any dialogue and the continuous implementation of their conspiratorial plot backed by a state that seek to undermine the region’s security and stability,” the Shura Council said in a statement.

Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani the Secretary-general of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) strongly condemned the attack on Riyadh city. He said the cowardly terrorist act expresses the militias’ confused state and ceaseless subjecting of the region’s security and stability to gross dangers.

He praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Air Defence Forces efficiently intercepting the missile before it hit its target. He regretted the militias’ continuous rejection of a peaceful settlement that will save the Yemeni people from the pangs of war. 

Dr. Abdullatif  urged the international community to stand resolutely against the targeting of cities.
