Student honoured for Outstanding Community Service

A 24-year-old Bahrain Polytechnic ICT student, and youth activist, Noof Mohamed Al Qaed was honoured by the Polytechnic for her outstanding achievements and track record in volunteer work in various programs and initiatives organised by the General Organisation for Youth and Sports (GOYS).
Al Qaed’s volunteering initiatives go back to when she was 11 years of age when she first started volunteering in various youth programs. She has been nominated by GOYS for her track record of services and contributions in programs and activities in matters related to youth. The award goes to nominees from every country in the Arabian Gulf Region, nominated by ministries and organisations across the GCC concerned with Youth and Sports. Al Qaed has proudly received the award as the first young Bahraini woman to receive the GCC medal for outstanding service in the youth category.
Al Qaed has participated in a wide range of activities and initiatives in the national and regional level, taking part and leading roles in numerous activities and events for various age groups. Prominently, her contribution to the development of Nasser bin Hamad Youth Creativity and Innovation Award since its inception in 2012 where the award was dedicated to Bahraini youth. The award evolved in 2013 and 2014 to honour Khaleeji talents and in 2015, the award has expanded to recognise International youth’s contribution in this field. Her involvement in the organisation of this award has ranged between working in the communications, marketing, and media committees.
She has also has represented the Kingdom of Bahrain as part of the Bahraini delegation to the State of Qatar, where she has contributed to the evaluation and development of Khaleeji events and programs in the First Youth Gathering in Doha in 2012. Her contributions have also led her to join the Bahraini Delegation to the youth Camp held in Turkey in 2014. In the field of events, Ms. Al Qaed has also been an active member in the Events Committee for the events and programs organised by GOYS in 2013 and 2014; she also been commissioned to organize various events and programs at the Bahraini Embassy in Kuwait in 2012 and 2013. She has also been an organiser and supervision in the second edition of the Youth City 2030.
