Bahrain-UK Education Week kick-starts today at UoB

ManamaThe Bahrain-UK Education Week, organized by the British Council in partnership with the University of Bahrain and a number of partners, will kick off today at the University of Bahrain  to promote educational cooperation between Bahraini and British educational institutions.

The week’s programme will include the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) workshops, a UK Alumni Engineering Projects Exhibition, and the annual Study UK Exhibition; which will all be taking place at the university Sakhir campus.

University of Bahrain President, Prof. Riyad Yousef Hamza stated, “ The Bahrain-UK Education Week is a great opportunity for our students to see engineering graduation projects from British universities as well as know more about the programmes offered by British universities and the opportunities to pursue post-graduation studies”. 

British Council Bahrain Director, Richard Rooze said in light of the occasion “We are very excited to host 600 school students for STEM workshops; which University of Bahrain students are helping our partners, BAE Systems, in delivering, as well as the UK Alumni Engineering Exhibition”. 

The Bahrain-UK Education Week will welcome 600 grade 9 school students to take part in STEM workshops. The week-long workshops taking place at Zain E-Learning Centre at the University of Bahrain aim to encourage students to study and work in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
