Think Pink Week at Bahrain Indian School

Manama : October is the Breast Cancer awareness month and Bahrain Indian School (BIS) contributed to the service of the society by educating children about breast cancer by organizing  ‘Think Pink’ week celebrations. Under the umbrella of Think Pink various activities like poster making, greeting card making, awareness talks and paper presentation were conducted by grade V and VI children. A special assembly, cricket match and football match between teachers and students were also held.

The awareness was demonstrated by the use of pink colour all around the school. The school was adorned with decorations of pink colour. The teachers wore pink dresses and ‘Think Pink’ ribbons. The corridors and the bulletin boards displayed breast cancer awareness information and facts. Cross-curricular learning took place along with the generation of awareness relating to a very burning yet a sensitive issue. Students and teachers sold cupcakes and greeting cards to the parents as a part of fund raising campaign. Funds were also raised by the generous donation from the parents as well. The funds raised will go to charity.

School Directors Himanshu Verma and Ritu Verma appreciated the teachers and students for conducting such a noble awareness program and thanked both the parents and the teachers for their efforts in inculcating values and social responsibility among children.
