Get ready for GCC Beach Games

The Kingdom of Bahrain has begun its preparations to compete in the Second GCC Beach Games due to take place in Saudi Arabia from October 15 to 26 in Dammam.
Representatives of 11 national sports associations involved in the games and the Bahrain Olympic Committee attended the first coordinating meeting in Seef yesterday to set up a number of issues to facilitate the teams’ participation.
BOC Projects director Lounes Madene welcomed the sports associations’ representatives at the meeting and noted the importance of one of the major regional sporting events.
Madene made a presentation on the Games, which comprises - football, volleyball, basketball, handball, swimming, equestrian, table tennis, karate, weightlifting, bowling, athletics and goalball.
Bahrain will seek to participate in the football, volleyball, basketball, handball, swimming and athletics.
Madene also revealed the number of athletes eligible to take part in all competitions, and urged the sports associations to work hard in preparing their teams. He also asked them to submit any needs requests related to the athletes.
