HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Appointed to Supreme Defence Council

MANAMA: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Royal Decree No. (10) of 2026 on Thursday, appointing His Highness Brigadier General Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to the Supreme Defence Council (SDC).
HH Shaikh Khalid, who serves as the Commander of Special Operations at the Royal Guard, joins the Kingdom’s highest defense authority responsible for national security strategy and military policy. The appointment, which takes effect immediately, underscores Bahrain’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its defense leadership and organizational structure.
As a senior officer within the Royal Guard, HH Shaikh Khalid has played a pivotal role in the command of special operations. His induction into the SDC reflects his significant contributions to the Kingdom's military readiness and the modernization of its security apparatus.
