Air Traffic Restarts: Inspection confirms operational readiness

Flight operations at Bahrain International Airport are steadily returning to normal following a temporary suspension, with officials confirming full operational readiness during an on-site inspection by senior leadership.

The Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, carried out an inspection visit to the airport to assess preparedness, coinciding with the departure of the first flights of national carrier Gulf Air after the reopening of airspace.

During the visit, the minister reviewed operational systems, passenger-handling procedures, and coordination mechanisms at Bahrain International Airport, ensuring that all facilities were functioning smoothly as flight schedules resumed.

He praised the joint efforts of airport personnel, security services, and civil aviation teams, highlighting their efficiency in restoring seamless operations and maintaining a safe environment for travellers throughout the transition period.

Expressing gratitude, he acknowledged the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the temporary disruption, noting the importance of regional cooperation in ensuring continuity of air connectivity.
