Man gets jail for attacking police officer
Manama : A Bahraini man has been imprisoned for two years on grounds of attacking a cop in Jaw Prison.
The defendant is reported to have punched the policeman on his neck before pouring water over his cap.
“He was not given permission to enter building number three, where I was on guard. When I denied him, he screamed and punched me in the neck. He threw my cap on the ground and poured water over it,” the victim told prosecutors.
However, the defendant declined the victim’s statements, saying that he had only shouted at him.
The 22-year-old defendant earlier served jail terms in connection with drug and robbery cases.
