Developing green areas a priority for government

ManamaLandscaping and developing green areas across the Kingdom is an important part of urban development for the government, said Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry’s Undersecretary of Municipalities Affairs Dr. Nabil Mohammed Abu Al Fath.

He was speaking during a visit to a number of streets in the Capital and Muharraq to check the development of green areas.

During the visit, the Undersecretary was accompanied by Manama Municipality Director-General Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Director of Planning and Municipal Council Affairs Department Wael Nasser Al Mubarak and a number of officials in the ministry.

The Undersecretary confirmed that the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam Khalaf directed to inspect the development of green spaces and promote afforestation to establish sustainable development.

Abu Al Fath pointed out that the ministry has made great efforts towards completing main stages of afforestation of many streets. He noted that the ministry is keen to modernise agricultural methods and improve its quality.

He praised the efforts of executive bodies and municipal councils in implementing various development projects, which include landscaping and embellishment to achieve sustainable development and provide better services to citizens.
