Doctor to depose in infant’s death case
Manama: A forensic doctor will take the stand on October 18 to testify in the trial of a couple accused in connection with the death of a four-month child.
The couple include the victim’s GCC national step mother and his father, both of whom are exchanging blames for the crime. The step mother appeared yesterday for the second time with her infant, who she delivered during her time in detention.
According to the case, the father, a Bahraini citizen of Arab origins, got married to his co-defendant and later tied the knot with his cousin, who gave birth to the child (the victim). But when problems surfaced, they got divorced. She returned to her home country. But the child remained in the custody of the father and the step mother.
According to court files, the child was taken to hospital suffering from head injuries and he was vomiting strange liquid from his mouth. He succumbed to his wounds after four days.
