Al Rumaihi wins Night Endurance
Manama : HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and Honorary Chairman of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) crowned Mayoof Al Rumaihi as the champion of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Night Endurance (120km) Championship on Friday in the presence of Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid, President of Breef.
Al Rumaihi (47 minutes 38 seconds) came in the first place with a speed of 25 km/ph ahead of Mohammed Al Shammari and Al Miqdad Janahi who finished second and third respectively.
Shaikh Nasser praised the participants and noted their exceptional performance which resulted in the success of the championship. He expressed his optimism and pride of the high technical levels achieved in local endurance sports and the emergence of newer talents.
He congratulated the winners and expressed his appreciation to the efforts of the organisers who brought out a successful event.
On his part, Shaikh Faisal said the championship was a success, adding that it’s considered as one of the toughest races in the local endurance races season.
Shaikh Faisal also asserted that the federation is following the instructions of Shaikh Nasser in organising various local events to enhance the skills of riders from the different local stables in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
