Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa has stressed the need for Iraq to take all the necessary measures to prevent any form of interference in the domestic affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

He urged to put an end to the terrorist groups that use the Iraqi territory to threaten the safety and security of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Minister’s statements came in the wake of the proven reports that the terrorist group Al Ashtar Brigades had received training in handling arms and explosives from Hezbollah brigades in Iraq.

The Minister yesterday summoned the Iraqi Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Ahmed Naif Rasheed Al Dalimi, and handed over an official letter of protest.

Shaikh Khalid told the Ambassador that the Kingdom of Bahrain highly valued its relations with Iraq and made all endeavours to further bolster them in all fields. “Kingdom is keen to preserve the security, safety, stability and territorial integrity of Iraq and cooperate with the anti-Daesh coalition to eliminate the terrorist organization.”

The Minister added that the Kingdom of Bahrain totally rejected any interference in its internal affairs from any side, whatsoever, and reminded Iraq that it had to take all the necessary measures to halt those criminal acts that aim to undermine Bahrain’s security and stability.

Shaikh Khalid stressed that Bahrain would take all the necessary measures to reinforce its security and stability and protect its interests.
