The court sentenced a foreign national to three months in prison for operating a business without a licence but overturned the deportation order, citing leniency.
The defendant had originally been sentenced in absentia to jail, a fine, and permanent deportation, along with confiscation of seized items.
During appeal proceedings, the defence challenged the legality of the procedures and evidence presented.
While the court upheld the conviction, it decided to revoke deportation, concluding there was no indication the defendant would reoffend.
