Bahrain Passport law amended
Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday ratified and issued Law 7/2016 on amending article 9 of Law 11/1975 with respect to passports.
Under the latest amendment, a new clause (L) was added to article 9 of Law 11/1975.
The new clause stipulates that retired military personnel from the Bahrain Defence Force, the public security forces, the National Guard and former National Security Agency, with the rank of brigadier and above, may obtain a special passport, provided that their service has not been terminated due to disciplinary or final judicial ruling, and after the approval of the high command of the military side to which they were affiliated.
HRH the Prime Minister and the relevant Ministers shall implement the law, which takes effect a day after its publication in the Official Gazette.
