Second UoB Super League Cricket Tournament held

The University of Bahrain’s (UoB) Society of College of Engineering organised the second annual Super League Cricket Game Tournament on the Isa Town campus on Wednesday.

With an aim to introducing a more culturally diverse environment, former head of the Sports Committee in the Society of College of Engineering, Abdulrahman Islami, came up with the idea of having a Cricket Tournament.

This led him to learn the rules and elements of the game and meet some experienced students to guide him in conducting the tournament. Board member of the Sports Committee of the Society of College of Engineering and Head of the Cricket Sport in the committee, Abdullatif Alshamlan said, “At the outset, we noticed that a fair number of students were very interested in the game. It satisfies our fellow students and team players, who are very much culturally inclined
to this sport.” With the university’s management being very supportive, everyone was welcome to register for
the tournament. Al Shamlan confirmed that five teams of seven players registered for the tournament.

The teams that played in the tournament were Super Stars, All Stars, UOB Zalmi, Cheetahs and Soliders. Super Stars won the first place while All Stars emerged runner up.
