The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, in coordination with the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), has developed a digital service for issuing permits to export veterinary samples outside Bahrain.
The service is designed to regulate the transportation of veterinary samples in line with approved health, veterinary and biosafety requirements, while meeting international shipping standards and reducing the risk of cross-border disease transmission.
Under the upgraded service, permit processing has been reduced to one working day, while application steps have been cut from seven to three. Applicants are no longer required to submit supporting documents, and the service has been fully digitalised.
The development also includes reducing the service-level agreement by at least 25%, improved, application forms converted into electronic formats and service information standardised across different channels.
Agriculture and Animal Wealth Affairs Undersecretary Asim Abdul Latif Abdullah said beneficiaries can submit applications electronically through Bahrain's National Portal. The ministry reviews the application and completes the necessary procedures before issuing the permit electronically, saving applicants time and effort.
