The Institute of Public Administration (IPA) and Arabian Gulf University (AGU) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in academic research, innovation and skills development.

The agreement was signed by IPA Director-General Dr Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa and AGU President Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fahid.

Dr Shaikha Rana highlighted the importance of partnerships with academic and scientific institutions for exchanging expertise and knowledge and developing national and Gulf competencies. She said the IPA is continuing to expand cooperation with academic institutions through joint programmes and initiatives in areas of mutual interest.

Dr Al Fahid said the partnership would help connect academic knowledge with practical applications and strengthen AGU's role in knowledge and innovation. He also highlighted opportunities to expand research and consultancy cooperation in public administration and government development across Bahrain and the GCC.

The MoU provides for joint research projects, teams bringing together academics and practitioners, and participation by IPA trainers in AGU educational programmes. It also covers institutional and technological innovation, capacity building, joint events and developing innovative solutions to institutional challenges.
