HM The King Congratulates President Putin
HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa sent a cable of congratulations to Russian President Vladimir Putin on his birthday, conveying his best wishes for continued health, happiness and a long life.
HM the King also wished the friendly people of the Russian Federation further progress and prosperity.
GCC Social Affairs Meet
Social Development Ministry Undersecretary Zeyad Adel Darwish chaired the 12th meeting of the GCC Committee of Undersecretaries of Ministries of Social Affairs and Social Development. The meeting was held remotely as part of Bahrain's presidency of the 46th GCC session.
The meeting reviewed Joint Gulf Action, followed up on approved decisions, plans and programmes, and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation, exchange expertise and advance social development policies across GCC countries.
Bahrain Shares Digital Expertise
The Information & eGovernment Authority held its first knowledge exchange session with the National Digital Development Agency of the Union of the Comoros, activating a memorandum of understanding signed in June 2026.
The session focused on Bahrain's experience in ICT governance, including managing, reviewing, and approving government IT projects and procurements, as part of cooperation on eGovernment and digital transformation.
Two Women Arrested
Capital Governorate Police arrested two Asian women for allegedly stealing gold jewellery valued at around BD8,000.
Police said investigations following a report led to the identification and arrest of the suspects, who possessed the jewelry. Legal procedures are complete, and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
Youth Programmes Reviewed
Youth Affairs Minister Rawan bint Najib Tawfiqi visited the Karzakan Youth Empowerment Center and reviewed its programmes and initiatives aimed at developing young people's talents, skills and abilities.
The minister highlighted the role of youth centres in supporting creativity and community participation, and stressed the importance of providing programmes that reflect the interests and aspirations of Bahraini youth.
LMRA Conducts Inspections
The Labour Market Regulatory Authority conducted 4,847 inspection campaigns and visits across Bahrain in September, resulting in the apprehension of 67 undocumented and irregular workers and the deportation of 547 violators.
The inspections included 4,675 visits to commercial establishments and 172 joint campaigns across the governorates. Authorities also identified violations of labour market and residence regulations and took legal action.
Man Drowns Near Hidd
The Coast Guard found the body of a 24-year-old Asian man who drowned in the sea area near Hidd.
Bahrain Backs Saudi
Bahrain reaffirmed its support for Saudi Arabia and its efforts to support the Presidential Leadership Council and the legitimate Yemeni government, while condemning continued Houthi attacks targeting Saudi territory and civilian and economic infrastructure.
The Foreign Ministry expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for measures to protect its security, sovereignty, citizens and residents, citing the right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter.
