Energy Action Plan Committee Reconstituted

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today issued Edict (52) of 2026 reconstituting the committee overseeing the implementation of the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan, the National Renewable Energy Action Plan and their initiatives.
The committee will be chaired by the Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs and will include representatives from the Ministries of Works; Industry and Commerce; Transportation and Telecommunications; Housing and Urban Planning; Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture; Finance and National Economy; Oil and Environment; the Prime Minister's Office; the Supreme Council for Environment; and the Electricity and Water Authority.
The Prime Minister's Office representative on the committee will be designated by the relevant entity. Committee membership will run for a renewable three-year term.
The edict directs ministers, each within their respective jurisdictions, to implement its provisions. It will take effect the day following its issuance.
