Bahrain MP evicted from restaurant for rent default

Parliamentary member was yesterday evicted from an Adliya restaurant that he rented as he failed to pay the monthly rents. This came after the authorities executed an order issued by the Court of Urgent Matters against the MP, who failed to pay two monthly rents in total worth

BD7600.

The owner of the restaurant said in his complaint that the restaurant was leased to the MP at a monthly rental fee of BD3800, starting from April 1, 2013, but he failed to pay the monthly rent of October and November last year.

“The defendant failed to attend to the court, and the Court of Urgent Matters has the right to evict lessees, who failed to settle their arrears when there is a relative condition stating the same. And since the defendant violated this condition, the Court of Urgent Matters ruled in favour of evicting the lessee so the owner can benefit again from the restaurant,” said the court ruling.
