Second Missing Man Found Dead Off Nurana Beach
Coastguard teams found the body of a second man reported missing at sea off Madinat Salman, ending a days-long search near Nurana Beach.
Abdullah Ahmed Mohammed, 34, from Damistan, was found after search and rescue teams continued sweeping the waters where the two men had disappeared.
His body was recovered days after teams found the first missing man, Isa Ahmed Mohammed, 41, from Zallaq, near Nurana Beach on Friday.
The authorities had been alerted after contact with the two men was lost at sea, prompting a search of the area.
Information provided about the case said Abdullah had gone to sea that morning with his brother Mohammed before contact with them was lost.
The Interior Ministry had earlier said the Coastguard received a report that two people were missing at sea near the border areas. The Marine Operations and Rescue Centre then formed search and rescue teams, backed by Police Aviation, to scour the waters and locate them.
Search teams later recovered Isa’s body near Nurana Beach while efforts continued to find Abdullah in the same area.
With Abdullah’s body now recovered, the search operation has ended and the relevant authorities are completing legal procedures as they establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
