Bahrain Envoy Meets UNODC Chief in Vienna

 

Ambassador Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations Office and other international organisations in Geneva and Vienna, met Monica Juma, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna and Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

The meeting was held at the Permanent Mission of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), with Ambassador Abdullah attending in his capacity as representative of the country holding the presidency of the 46th session of the GCC.

The two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between GCC member states and the United Nations Office at Vienna and UNODC, while exchanging views on several issues of mutual interest.

They underscored the importance of continued coordination and cooperation between GCC member states and UNODC, as well as enhancing bilateral cooperation to support security and stability.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships in implementing joint programmes and initiatives, building capacities, and exchanging expertise in areas of mutual interest.
