UAE Rescue Team Finds 10 More Survivors in Nepal Flood Search

A UAE search and rescue team operating in Nepal has located 10 additional survivors as efforts continue following last month’s devastating floods.
The team has been conducting operations in the mountainous Rasuwa district and along the Trishuli River, using drones, aerial surveys and 3D mapping technology. So far, Emirati teams have located 18 people during the search operation.
The disaster struck on August 26 after a glacier collapse triggered a massive flow of water, mud and debris along communities near the Nepal-Tibet border. Villages and hydropower facilities were severely damaged, with more than 1,300 people reported killed and thousands still missing.
Rescue efforts have focused on hydropower facilities, where hundreds of workers are believed to have been trapped inside tunnel networks.
The UAE has also deployed five aircraft carrying boats, drones, generators, power equipment and other specialist supplies to support Nepalese rescue teams.
The UAE previously provided $10 million in emergency assistance and delivered 186 tonnes of humanitarian aid, including food, tents and essential equipment.
