Knibb Claims Fourth World Crown

Bahrain Victorious 13 star Taylor Knibb claimed her fourth Ironman 70.3 world title with a dominant victory in Nice, France, yesterday.
The American completed the 1.9-kilometre swim, 90km cycling leg and 21.1km run in four hours, 19 minutes and 24 seconds, finishing more than four minutes clear of Switzerland's Julie Derron.
Knibb emerged from the water fifth, only nine seconds off the lead, before taking control within the opening 10km of the bike leg. She broke the course's cycling record and carried an advantage of almost four-and-a-half minutes into the run.
Despite struggling with the heat during the closing stages, the 28-year-old maintained her advantage to complete another commanding performance.
"This one is very special and I am just very grateful," Knibb said.
Derron climbed from 11th after the cycling leg to finish second in 4:23:30, recording the day's fastest run split of 1:13:04. Fellow Swiss athlete Alanis Siffert placed third on her championship debut in 4:25:10.
