NASA Space Apps 2026 Registration Opens The eighth Bahrain edition

The hackathon will be held on November 14 and 15, organised by the BSA under the supervision of NASA and in cooperation with several academic institutions in Bahrain.

The 2026 edition will be hosted simultaneously at three locations: the University of Bahrain’s Sakhir Campus, Bahrain Polytechnic in Isa Town and Kingdom University in Riffa. Participants can select their preferred venue when registering.

The NASA Space Apps Challenge is one of the world’s largest specialised events in space and technology, bringing together participants from different academic and professional backgrounds to form multidisciplinary teams and develop solutions to challenges using NASA’s open data, technologies and resources.

Over 48 hours, participants will work on projects combining fields including space science, programming, engineering, design and entrepreneurship, while developing innovative approaches to real-world challenges.

The BSA invited people of different disciplines and age groups interested in space, innovation and technology to register and participate in the global challenge.

The Agency encouraged participants to use space science and modern technologies to create innovative solutions to real-world problems while gaining experience through collaboration and multidisciplinary teamwork.

As part of preparations for the event, the BSA held separate coordination meetings with participating universities to review organisational and logistical arrangements, assess venue readiness and ensure all hosting requirements are in place.

These preparations aim to provide participants with a suitable environment and ensure the eighth Bahrain edition of the challenge is conducted to a high standard.
