Shura Official Hails Press Award

Dr. Jameela Mohammed Redha Al Salman, Chairperson of the Services Committee at Bahrain's Shura Council, said the announcement of the 10th edition of the Prime Minister's Press Award reflects the attention and support that Bahraini journalism receives under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. She said the King's continued support for the national media recognizes it as a key partner in Bahrain's comprehensive development.

She also highlighted the significant support provided by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the media sector through initiatives aimed at advancing journalism, fostering creativity and excellence, and reinforcing the values of professionalism and responsibility.

Dr. Al Salman said the Prime Minister's Press Award, now marking its 10th edition, has become a landmark in Bahrain's media landscape and a leading national platform for promoting excellence and innovation. She said the award encourages positive competition among journalists and media institutions, contributing to higher-quality media content while keeping pace with Bahrain's ongoing development and modernization across various sectors.

She added that cooperation between the legislative and executive branches resulted in the issuance of the Law Regulating the Press and Media, describing it as a significant step forward for journalism and media in Bahrain. She said the legislation reflects the leadership's vision of modernizing the legal framework to keep pace with developments in the media sector, establish a contemporary legal environment that supports responsible media freedom, reinforce professionalism and transparency, and strengthen the ability of media institutions to fulfill their national role efficiently.

Dr. Al Salman also praised the attendance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, at the annual ceremony honoring the winners of the Prime Minister's Press Award and his personal patronage of the national event. She said his participation reflects his commitment to recognizing national media professionals, honoring outstanding achievements, and encouraging continued excellence, while strengthening the role of Bahraini journalism in conveying the truth, highlighting national achievements, and promoting the values of belonging and responsibility.

Concluding her statement, Dr. Al Salman extended her congratulations to all winners of the 10th edition of the Prime Minister's Press Award. She commended their distinguished journalistic work, which she said reflects the professionalism and competence of Bahrainis in the media sector, and wished them continued success while expressing hope for further progress and prosperity for Bahraini journalism in support of the Kingdom's comprehensive development under the leadership of His Majesty the King and with the support and follow-up of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
