Efforts to Renew WHO Healthy City Accreditation
Northern Governor Hassan bin Abdullah Al Madani, who chairs the Supreme Committee of the Healthy Cities Programme in the governorate, led a committee meeting attended by Deputy Governor Brigadier Abdullah Ali Rashid Ma’anter and Northern Municipality Director General Engineer Mohammed Saad Al Suhail.
The meeting reviewed ongoing plans and programmes aimed at securing the renewal of the governorate’s healthy city accreditation in line with WHO requirements.
Al Madani highlighted that the Northern Governorate’s achievements under the Healthy Cities Programme reflect the vision and guidance of Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa in promoting the concept of healthy governorates as a national model that integrates security, health and development.
He said the programme supports improved quality of life through effective partnerships between government entities, civil society organisations and the local community.
