Asian Man Arrested With Forged Credit Cards
A second Asian man was arrested in Bahrain with forged credit cards, security authorities announced on Saturday.
Interior Ministry’s Anti-corruption and Economic and Electronic Security General Director Lieutenant Colonel Bassam Al Miraj confirmed the arrest of an Asian man while using forged credit card to purchase goods at a shopping mall, in a similar scenario to an incident that was reported on January 18.
The Lt. Col. said the operation was done in coordination with the Capital Police Directorate.
He explained that “the department received a case from a shopping mall about a man who uses forged credit cards to buy products.”
“The police rushed to the location and arrested the suspect, who possessed of 26 forged cards, which were all seized by the police,” said Al Miraj, adding that legal proceedings are being taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecution.
DT News reported a similar case that was reported at a shopping mall in the Capital. Police then arrested the man red-handed while he was making a transaction. The authorities were notified by a bank about the culprit, who was also an Asian national.
