Higher Education Council approved a series of international cooperation agreements linking local universities with institutions across four continents, following a board meeting chaired by Education Minister Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma.

The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Bahrain Medical University secured memoranda of understanding with four institutions: the Voller Medical University in Iraq's Kurdistan Region, the Children's Cancer Hospital Foundation in Egypt, the Association of American Medical Colleges in the United States, and the University of Malta.

The American University of Bahrain also received approval for agreements with the Chartered Management Institute in the United Kingdom and WACOM Europe GmbH in Germany.

Meanwhile, the University of Applied Sciences gained sign-off on five new partnerships covering India, Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and an arrangement with Pathway Educatia Global Ltd.

The board also reviewed progress on decisions from its previous session and considered reports from the council's General Secretariat before issuing its approvals.

Officials said the agreements form part of a broader national strategy to expand Bahrain's footprint in international higher education and open new avenues for student exchange, joint research, and professional development.
