Youth City 2030 Trainers Highlight Programme's Role in Nurturing Bahrain's Creative Talent
Manama: Trainers participating in Youth City 2030, organised by Bahrain's Ministry of Youth Affairs in partnership with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), have praised the programme for its significant role in discovering, developing, and empowering young Bahraini talent over the past 15 years.
Speaking to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), they described the initiative as a comprehensive training platform that enables participants to build practical skills, gain hands-on professional experience, and transform their creative abilities into promising career opportunities.
They emphasised that partnerships with organisations across the media, arts, and creative industries have expanded opportunities for young Bahrainis while strengthening their readiness for the labour market.
Fahad Zainal, founder of the Mask Crew team and a trainer at Youth City 2030, said the programme has become a leading platform for identifying talented young people from schools and the wider community, giving them the opportunity to showcase their abilities and connect with industry professionals.
He noted that Youth City has helped produce outstanding national talent in fields including leadership, media, theatre, and the creative arts, with many former participants progressing into leadership positions across various sectors.
Zainal also reflected on his own journey, explaining that he first joined the programme as a trainee before becoming a trainer more than a decade ago, where he now mentors participants in the "First Step – Theatre" programme, demonstrating the initiative's lasting impact in developing future trainers and inspiring new generations of Bahraini youth.
