NCC Global Communication Office Director General Participates in China Media Group Forum

Islam Ahmed Abduljabbar, Director General of the Global Communication Office at the National Communication Centre (NCC), participated in the 5th China Media Group Forum held in Chongqing, People's Republic of China.
The forum, organised by China Media Group in cooperation with the Chongqing municipal authorities, brought together more than 300 government officials, media professionals, and representatives of international organisations from around the world. Discussions focused on the future of media and communications in the age of artificial intelligence and opportunities for greater cooperation among countries of the Global South.
Abduljabbar was invited to speak during the forum’s second and final panel session, titled “Reshaping Inclusion, Equity and Justice: Envisioning the AI Wave from a Global South Cooperation Perspective.” During her remarks, she highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to leveraging artificial intelligence to support development and drive growth across key sectors, enhancing the Kingdom’s competitiveness on the global stage.
She also outlined the ongoing transformation of Bahrain’s government communications sector, noting efforts to turn the challenges associated with AI adoption into opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement. She emphasised the importance of maximising the benefits of emerging technologies to strengthen both media and communications practices.
The forum featured a series of panel discussions and related events that provided participants with a platform to exchange expertise and explore international best practices in media, particularly in the fields of digital transformation and AI-powered content creation.
The sessions also focused on enhancing media performance standards and identifying future directions for the communications industry amid rapid technological change.
