Northern Governor Meets Heads and Officials of Maatams Ahead of Ashoora

Hassan Abdulla Al Madani, Northern Governor, met with heads and officials of maatams across the Northern Governorate as part of preparations for the upcoming Ashoora season. The meeting was attended by Brigadier Abdulla Ali Rashid Mantar, Deputy Governor, representatives from security directorates at the Ministry of Interior, and officials from relevant service authorities.
During the meeting, Al Madani expressed his gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their continued support of religious observances and rituals, particularly Ashoora.
He also commended the efforts of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, for implementing the royal vision and ensuring that Ashoora rituals are conducted smoothly, safely, and in an organised manner.
The Governor stressed the importance of preserving the religious significance and values associated with Ashoora while preventing any practices that may affect its authentic character. He highlighted the directives issued by the Interior Minister during his annual meeting with heads of maatams, noting that they reflect a strong commitment to national responsibility, security, public order, and community cooperation during the observance of Ashoora.
Al Madani praised the ongoing efforts of security and service authorities, thanking them for their cooperation and dedication in providing an environment of safety, order, and reassurance throughout the commemorations.
He also acknowledged the positive role played by maatam administrations during previous Ashoora seasons, commending their cooperation and sense of responsibility, which have contributed significantly to the successful organisation of events and the respectful observance of the occasion.
Representatives of the security and service authorities reaffirmed their readiness to coordinate with all concerned parties to ensure the success of this year's Ashoora season. Meanwhile, heads of maatams expressed their appreciation to the Northern Governorate and reiterated their commitment to working closely with relevant authorities to ensure that Ashoora events are held safely and smoothly.
