Guinness World Records certificate highlights Bahrain’s religious diversity

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla presented His Majesty the King with a Guinness World Records certificate recognising the Kingdom of Bahrain as the country with the highest density of places of worship for different religions. The achievement reflects Bahrain’s longstanding reputation for religious tolerance and coexistence.

His Majesty the King was also briefed on the centre’s current and future plans, including preparations for the first edition of the King Hamad Award for Coexistence and Tolerance. His Majesty directed that the Coexistence Path, which comprises places of worship across Manama, be highlighted as a symbol of the Kingdom’s commitment to religious and cultural diversity.

His Majesty commended the prestigious international achievement, which reflects the Kingdom’s unique civilisational character, its pluralism, and embrace of different religions and sects in an environment of tolerance and religious freedom. It also reflects the Kingdom's commitment to guaranteeing freedom of worship and the protection of all faiths.

His Majesty the King also noted that Bahrain continually seeks to strengthen a culture of coexistence and cultural understanding between cultures and civilisations, and to promote the values of peace and mutual respect among peoples of different cultures and beliefs.
