Youssef Kamal claimed second place in the under-16 category at the Dhahran Open Tennis Championship, held at Aramco courts from May 14 to 16 with the participation of young players from Gulf and Arab academies and clubs.

The Bahraini youngster reached the final after a strong run in the competition before losing to Jordanian player Saif Hashem of Tennis Point Academy in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.

The Bahrain Tennis Federation fielded 13 junior players in the tournament as part of its efforts to provide emerging talents with greater exposure to competitive regional events and help them gain experience through official matches.

Federation officials said the participation achieved its developmental objectives by allowing players to compete in high-level matches and adapt to the demands of tournament play, while improving their technical and physical readiness for future competitions.

The event forms part of the federation’s wider programme aimed at strengthening Bahrain’s junior tennis base and preparing young players to represent the kingdom in regional and international tournaments.
