Manama: Bahrain plans to establish a dedicated breast cancer screening division at public hospitals in an effort to improve women's healthcare services and increase early detection rates across the nation.
According to the Tender Board, Yusuf Mahmood Hussain Company has been awarded the project, which is estimated to be worth BD 494,000.
The centre will provide expert screening and diagnostic services to shorten wait times and make breast cancer detection more accessible.
Health officials have underlined the need of early diagnosis, stating that early detection of breast cancer significantly improves treatment results and recovery chances.
The project includes the design, construction, and full operation of the unit as well as the required civil works and infrastructure.
Advanced medical equipment and integrated digital diagnostic systems will also be used to provide more efficient screening and patient care services.
Officials assert that the development will be carried out thoroughly, ensuring that the facility will have all clinical and support services available and be completely equipped and operational when it is finished.
Most breast cancer screenings in Bahrain are presently performed by primary care centres, which then refer patients to specialised facilities when needed. The new facility will likely speed up the process by providing a more integrated diagnostic strategy within public institutions.
