A’Ali Walkway Upgrade Moves Forward, Completion Expected This Year

Engineer Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture, conducted an inspection visit to the A’Ali Walkway development project in the Northern Governorate to review progress and ongoing implementation stages.

The visit was attended by senior municipal officials and representatives of the Northern Municipal Council, who were briefed on the works currently underway to upgrade one of the area’s key public recreational destinations.

The minister highlighted the government’s continued commitment to strengthening infrastructure across Bahrain, including the development and maintenance of walkways, parks, beaches, and public gardens, in line with national development goals and quality standards.

He noted that the A’Ali Walkway project forms part of the ministry’s broader efforts to enhance public facilities, pointing to its strategic location and significance. The project is expected to be fully completed in the second half of the year.

Representatives of the Northern Municipal Council underscored the walkway’s popularity among residents and visitors, noting that the upgrade reflects growing public demand for improved recreational and sports amenities.

The development works include resurfacing the walkway, upgrading lighting systems, maintaining facilities and shaded areas, enhancing security through surveillance cameras, renovating sports and play areas, and expanding landscaping to improve the overall environment.

Council members commended the ministry’s efforts, stating that the project will greatly enhance the quality and usability of the facility for the community.
