The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) has introduced an upgraded health product registration service, aiming to improve efficiency and support Bahrain’s broader digital transformation efforts.
The revamped system is expected to benefit importers, pharmaceutical agents, and healthcare suppliers by offering a more streamlined and user-friendly application process aligned with international standards. Processing times have been reduced from 20 to 15 working days, enabling faster approvals.
Under the new framework, electronic auditing measures have been strengthened to enhance data accuracy and ensure the integrity of procedures. The application process has also been simplified into key steps, including submission, document upload, fee payment, review, and final approval through the “Adwya” digital platform.
NHRA Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Mohammed Al-Ansari said the initiative reflects the authority’s commitment to innovation and improving healthcare quality and safety, while reducing time and effort for applicants.
