GCC Energy Ministers Meet In Bahrain To Strengthen Energy Cooperation
Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dinah, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, chaired the 37th Meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council Petroleum Cooperation Committee in Bahrain.
The meeting was attended by GCC energy ministers and Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC.
Dr. Bin Dinah said hosting the meeting in Bahrain reflects the strong ties between GCC countries and their leaders’ support for continued cooperation, particularly in the oil and energy sector.
He highlighted the importance of the energy sector to global energy security and international market stability, stressing the need for closer coordination among GCC countries as economic, technological and geopolitical conditions continue to change.
The meeting also discussed efforts to develop the Gulf energy sector through innovation and modern, clean technologies while balancing economic growth, sustainable development and environmental considerations.
Key topics included energy security, the GCC energy strategy, the transition to cleaner energy, emergency plans for petroleum products, European regulations affecting the sector, and trade and foreign trade issues.
