Bahrain hosts 37th GCC Petroleum Cooperation Committee meeting
Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dinah, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, chaired the 37th meeting of the GCC Petroleum Cooperation Committee in Bahrain.
The meeting was attended by GCC energy ministers and Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dinah said hosting the meeting in Bahrain reflects the strong ties among GCC countries and the continued support of their leaders for Gulf cooperation, particularly in the oil and energy sector.
Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dinah stressed the importance of the GCC energy sector to global energy security and international market stability, calling for continued coordination and closer alignment of policies amid rapid economic, technological and geopolitical changes.
The meeting also reviewed efforts to strengthen the resilience and competitiveness of the regional energy sector through innovation and the adoption of modern and clean technologies, while balancing economic growth with sustainability and environmental priorities.
Key issues discussed included developments in the GCC energy strategy, energy security, the energy transition, the regional emergency plan for petroleum products, European legislation affecting the energy sector, and trade and foreign trade matters.
