Bahrain Reaffirms Economic Strength and Diversification at Atlantic Council Dialogue

As part of his participation in the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C., His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, took part in a dialogue session organized by the Atlantic Council.

The session, attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Ambassador of Bahrain to the United States, focused on Bahrain’s financial and economic outlook. It was moderated by Mr. Khaled Azim, Director for the Middle East and North Africa, and brought together a group of experts and specialists to discuss key global and regional economic developments and their implications for regional economies.

During the session, the Minister reviewed current developments in the global economy amid ongoing challenges, noting that the GCC countries have been actively working to build more diversified, balanced, and resilient economies capable of adapting to global uncertainties.

He emphasized Bahrain’s strong ability to navigate economic and financial challenges, highlighting continued efforts to strengthen international economic relations, expand trade and investment opportunities, and ensure the sustainability of supply chains.

The Minister further stated that the current phase has contributed to strengthening the region’s economic position, affirming that GCC countries are emerging from these challenges with greater diversification and improved readiness. He stressed their commitment to building economies that sustain progress, prosperity, and opportunity creation.
