The Public Prosecution ordered the detention of a man in his fifties for seven days pending investigation, following reports accusing him of fraud and deception.
According to the allegations, the suspect sold mobile phones on an installment basis, then required customers to sign contracts which he later falsified by inflating the amounts beyond the actual value of the devices.
Earlier, the Ministry of Interior announced that the Southern Governorate Police Directorate had arrested a 53-year-old man in connection with the case after receiving multiple complaints of similar fraudulent activities.
The directorate stated that upon receiving the reports, it immediately launched investigations, collected evidence, and identified and arrested the suspect.
Legal procedures have been taken, and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
