The Kingdom of Bahrain and France discussed regional developments in light of the continued Iranian attacks against the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and their implications for regional security and stability.

The talks also covered the safety of international maritime navigation in the Arabian Gulf, as well as the impact of these attacks on energy security, food supplies, global trade, and the international economy.

This came as His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a phone call from H.E. Jean-Noel Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic.

The two sides discussed the longstanding and friendly relations between Bahrain and France, and opportunities to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across a range of sectors in support of shared interests.

The call further addressed prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation and continuing joint consultation and coordination within the United Nations Security Council regarding regional and international issues under discussion, in addition to exchanging views on matters of common interest.
