Jordan’s Senate president has voiced full support for Bahrain’s sovereignty and security, with its president Faisal Akef Al Fayez sending a letter to Shura Council chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh.
The message backs the kingdom as it faces what Bahrain described as Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain, Gulf states, and Jordan.
In the letter, Al Fayez said Jordan stood by Bahrain’s leadership and people, echoing the stance of His Majesty King Abdulla II Ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and backed Bahrain’s right to protect its national sovereignty and defend its safety and stability.
He said any threat or hostile act against Bahrain or its people was wholly rejected, adding that Bahrain’s security formed an inseparable part of the region’s wider stability.
Any attempt to undermine that, he said, would amount to an unacceptable escalation and a clear breach of sovereignty and international law.
Al Fayez also praised Bahrain’s leadership for what he described as a responsible role in backing regional stability and calling for dialogue and peaceful solutions.
He also urged the international community to take its duty seriously in preventing any attack or escalation that could endanger international peace and security.
He also prayed for Bahrain, its leadership and its people to remain safe and secure.
Al Saleh, in reply, thanked Al Fayez for what he called Jordan’s honourable stance and continued backing, and praised the Hashemite Kingdom’s support for Bahrain in the steps it is taking to protect its sovereignty and preserve its security and stability.
Ties
He said Bahrain and Jordan were bound by strong fraternal and strategic ties, as well as deep-rooted shared links.
Al Saleh added that visits between the two kingdoms’ leaders showed the depth of those bonds and a shared view on threats to regional security and stability.
The lawmaker also said Bahrain stood with Jordan against the Iranian attacks targeting its sovereignty, security and stability, and said the message from the Jordanian Senate president carried clear brotherly support for Bahrain under all circumstances.
