Gulf Airspace Restrictions Delay Critical WHO Medical Supplies

Temporary airspace restrictions have caused significant disruptions in the movement of medical supplies from the World Health Organization’s (WHO) global logistics hub in Dubai, UAE.

Over 50 emergency supply requests, intended to reach more than 1.5 million people across 25 countries, are now delayed, creating substantial backlogs in urgent medical aid.

Priority shipments include critical supplies destined for Al Arish, Egypt, to support the ongoing humanitarian response in Gaza, as well as essential aid for Lebanon and Afghanistan. WHO has emphasized the urgent need to restore smooth air transport to ensure timely delivery of life-saving medical resources.
