Warning sirens activate only when threats target Bahrain directly

Civil Defence authorities reported that they responded to five incidents yesterday, including damage to residential properties caused by falling fragments resulting from the indiscriminate targeting of civilian sites and infrastructure by Iranian projectiles.

Officials said inspections were also carried out on 33 vehicles that sustained damage from the falling debris.

Since the beginning of the Iranian aggression, the main operations room has received 6,763 emergency calls through the 999 hotline, with authorities taking the necessary action in response to each report. In total, 1,737 requests for assistance have been recorded and addressed.

Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security urged the public to avoid spreading rumours or unverified information. Authorities stressed that residents should only rely on officially approved sources for updates and carefully consider the accuracy of information before sharing it on social media.

Officials also clarified that residents may sometimes hear the sound of explosions when projectiles are intercepted outside Bahrain’s airspace, or when drones that are not heading toward populated areas are neutralised.

Authorities noted that warning sirens and emergency alert notifications are activated only when a direct threat targeting locations within Bahrain’s territory is detected, and are not triggered when there is no immediate risk to the Kingdom.

Civil Defence reaffirmed its readiness to respond to emergencies and urged the public to remain calm, follow official guidance, and report incidents through the emergency hotline if needed.
